Depressionesque: More towns printing their own currency

Bankrupt and Broke? Print your own currency. I wholeheartedly believe we are going to see lots more of these actions within the communities across the U.S.

The latest city to start printing currency is Detroit. Apparently this new form of currency is called the "Detroit Cheer" and is accepted by local businesses within the area. Think this is a crazy idea from a weird part of town? Think again, Detroit isn’t the only one. Cities in North Fork, CA, and Piedmont, NC, have already started their own type of currencies and other cities are quickly following suit.

During the Great Depression, many local currencies were introduced and considered legal tender in their own neighborhood. At present this is considered legal.

These stories basically hit home and tell you that paper currencies are unreliable and can disappear as soon as they start. Real wealth is and always has been in precious metals.
